An Evening with C.S. Lewis
Crossroads Assembly Church in Rothschild, Wisconsin invites you to an intimate performance of “An Evening with C.S. Lewis” Saturday, Oct. 10, beginning at 7 p.m.
The 90-minute one-man play is led by British actor David Payne, considered the world’s foremost portrayer of C.S. Lewis with more than 1,000 performances before more than 750,000 people.
The play depicts Lewis hosting a group of American writers at his home near Oxford University. The collegial setting allows Lewis to regale his guests with engaging conversation and spontaneous humor as he recounts his friendship with J.R.R. Tolkien, why he nearly abandoned the Chronicles of Narnia, how he came to embrace Christianity, and of the American woman who turned his life upside-down.
Payne has performed this play in theaters across the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States, but he has also enjoyed presenting this play in churches. Crossroads Assembly will be the latest such venue to host this extraordinary performance.
Seating is limited for this performance. Admission is free, but a free-will offering will be taken.
